Providing evidence

Evidence of your financial circumstances

Throughout this application form we will as you for evidence of your income, savings and expenditure. You can scan and upload copies of the documents, or Photocopies are acceptable. You do not need to send us the originals.

What you need to send us

You will need to send us evidence of things such as:

  • bank, building society and Post Office account statements
  • shares, bonds and investment certificates
  • savings you have gifted in the past five years
  • benefit letters from DWP or Job Centre Plus
  • private and occupational pension statements
  • compulsory payments/ court ordered payments
  • council tax bills
  • property details including ownership
  • rental/tenancy agreements
  • details of properties sold in the past five years
  • other property or land

We require six months of information relating to any savings and investments (bank statements, ISAs, savings/share certificates, bonds, copies of utility receipts, etc.).

Disability related expenditure

If you receive community care services and are in receipt of Attendance Allowance, Disability Living Allowance (Care Component) or Personal Independent Payment (Daily Living Component) we can make allowance in the financial assessment for additional expenses related to your disability. We call this 'disability related expenditure'.

If you are going to claim for any disability related expenditure, you will need to provide evidence of the cost incurred. This will include information such as:

  • bank statements (for the last six months)
  • utility bills (not statements)
  • receipts, invoices and other proof of payments that tell us how often you must pay these costs

We will then look through the expenses you are claiming together with your Care and Support Plan and determine whether these costs are classed as normal daily living expenses, or additional costs due to your disability, which we may be able to allow in the financial assessment calculation.
